Description

The Magid D-ROC GPD590 Work Glove combines powerful ANSI Cut Level A5 cut resistance, comfort and cost-savings into one superior performing glove. Made from a salt-and-pepper, 10-gauge high performance polyethylene (HPPE), glass and synthetic fiber blend, the polyurethane palm coated seamless machine knit glove offers some of the highest cut protection for a HPPE glove with excellent comfort, fit, and feel. The D-ROC GPD590 Glove’s cut protection, abrasion resistance and dexterity is further supported by a grey polyurethane palm coating that channels away oils and ensures added flexibility, dexterity and grip, especially compared to plastic and nitrile coatings. Ideal applications for this glove include appliance assembly, shipping and receiving, automobile manufacturing, metal stamping, metal fabrication and general maintenance.

Cut Level Guide

What do the different levels mean?
ANSI Cut Levels used to range from Level 1 (200 gram load) to Level 5 (3,500 gram load) and you may still see these levels referred to in older literature. Today, the levels have been expanded and refined to range from Cut Level A1 (for light cut hazards - 200 gram load) to Cut Level A9 (for high cut hazards - 6,000 gram load).

Which cut level do I need?

Use the chart below to determine the cut level you need in gloves, sleeves, or clothing:

How do you determine cut levels?

We use a specialized testing machine called a Tomodynamometer (TDM-100) to measure cut levels. The machine applies a straight-edged blade under a specific “load.” The load is the amount of pressure being applied with the blade. We gather data from multiple tests under various loads to determine the force required to cut through the sample. That measure gives us the material’s Cut Level.

What our customers are saying...

In the last 6 months, we have reduced costs, consolidated product and standardized the PPE we provide to our employees. We have gone from an uncontrolled distribution of safety products to one where we only use what is appropriate for the job function, replace it only when it is worn out and always have what we need on hand. It is a marked improvement and we could not have accomplished it without Magid’s help.
