The North by Honeywell C5 NFDS16 16" Cut Resistant Sleeve is an ANSI Cut Level 5 sleeve knitted from Dyneema brand high performance polyethylene (HPPE) and glass fiber that blends comfort with performance in a way that no other sleeve can. HPPE fiber is famously soft and cool to the touch, making for a sleeve that workers will love wearing. The sleeve’s gray color hides dirt, making it a practical choice for many tough and dirty applications, and it is also launderable and dry cleanable without noticeable deterioration in performance. The C5 NFDS16 Sleeve is perfect for applications where workers are involved in material handling and assembly work involving sharp objects like sheet metal, metal shavings, glass and metal parts.

  • State of the art Dyneema® brand high performance polyethylene (HPPE) and glass fiber machine knit construction provides ANSI Level 5 cut resistance
  • Feels cool to the touch and soft against the skin
  • Less bulky than other sleeve materials, making it less likely to snag or foul

Cut Level Guide

What do the different levels mean?
ANSI Cut Levels used to range from Level 1 (200 gram load) to Level 5 (3,500 gram load) and you may still see these levels referred to in older literature. Today, the levels have been expanded and refined to range from Cut Level A1 (for light cut hazards - 200 gram load) to Cut Level A9 (for high cut hazards - 6,000 gram load)

Which cut level do I need?

Use the chart below to determine the cut level you need in gloves, sleeves, or clothing:

How do you determine cut levels?

We use a specialized testing machine called a Tomodynamometer (TDM-100) to measure cut levels. The machine applies a straight-edged blade under a specific “load.” The load is the amount of pressure being applied with the blade. We gather data from multiple tests under various loads to determine the force required to cut through the sample. That measure gives us the material’s Cut Level.
