Safety Q & A

Q: What type of disposable clothing provides the best protection?
A: To determine which type of clothing provides the best protection, you must first define the threat to the employees' safety: Is it a solid (particulate), liquid, gas, or vapor? For protection against solids (or as the base layer to which another material may be added for liquid or other chemical protection), numerous substrates are acceptable. However, extra layers 'of protection must then be added, in various gauges, to enhance performance as the application war rants. Additionally, an appropriate closure design must also be defined to insure complete protection.

When it comes to protective clothing, many types of material can be laminated for solid, liquid, and chemical protection. However, to insure worker safety, the gauge and closure design of the material must correspond to the application.
