What is the chemical giving the Prop 65 warning?
Hello,
You probably know what proposition 65 is in California, but I wanted to paraphrase, just to be cover the bases. Essentially it is required to report an product that has been made with chemicals that have been known to cause cancer.
In the case of Magid and this warning, the reasoning is as follows. Magid is a manufacturer and distributor of PPE. For the leather gloves that we manufacture, we do not tan the leather in-house. Since we purchase the leather already tanned, we cannot 100% control the process used. There is one process that is not preferred that does use a chemical that qualifies for proposition 65. We do our best not to purchase leather that is tanned that way, but if it somehow got past us, we want to be covered. Since we cut the leather in our warehouse and all product is received in the same warehouse, we put the warning on all items. It does cause confusion, but since there is no actual leather used to make the sleeves, the warning is just an over-abundance of caution.
Thank you
